When I woke up this morning, I had a slight headache. I had intentions of cleaning up around the house all morning, but since I was feeling kind of crabby, I just laid around and watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade (a tradition at my house growing up!). I was nice to be lazy!
Scott called about 10:45 and said they were headed home. They had a decent morning but nothing extra ordinary. One of his friends that went hunting with him this morning, Mike Baker is one of his best friends...and now, practically like my brother. He also joined us for Thanksgiving today. We had a good time!
Here are some shots from the day....this is Scott and Jake...waiting for lunch to be ready!
He's so COOL!!!!
Scott and Mike didn't make it to the porch after lunch...for some reason they were REALLY tired!!
And this precious little fella.....is our NEW ADDITION!! His name is Moses!
Moses was the runt of the bunch. He is the sweetest thing! He looks so much like I cat I had when I was young named Pex!! I hope he doesnt grow up to be like Pex though, because he was M-E-A-N! (I know my mom is probably thinking right now, Oh no! NOT ANOTHER ANIMAL!!) My mom hates animals!! I'm not sure how I ended up loving them so much!!
And to make the day perfect.....NOAH came home!!! He has been gone since LAST Friday. I've been so worried about him. I had a bad feeling something was wrong. He sometimes will not come home for a day, but never a WEEK!
This evening after we got home I went outside to put Doc up and saw Noah under Scott's trailer. I called him but he wouldn't come to me. I thought he was kinda acting funny....but I was just so happy to see him I didn't think much of it. I ran inside to tell Scott... "GUESS WHO's HOME!!??!!" We both went back outside and as I was getting something out of the closet in the garage Noah walked up and I heard Scott say, "He's limping!" At first I thought Scott was just kidding because he is always saying stuff like that trying to get me stirred up. Scott picked him up and I walked over...and sure enough...he had a BAD cut/hole on his foot.....and his whole leg was swollen!!! It just broke my little heart!!
Sometimes he'll put a little weight on it when he is walking but then sometimes he won't even put it down - he just hops...THATS REALLY SAD!!! We can't figure out what happened....I guess he got in a fight. I'm just glad to have him home! I would LOVE to know where in the world he has been and what happened though. I'm debating whether or not I need to take him to the vet. His foot doesn't even look like a foot...his whole leg is so swollen its like he has a pole leg with no foot!! Scott, of course doesn't think I need to.
I figured when Noah saw Moses for the first time he wouldn't like it...but he didn't really act like he cared. I don't know if its just because he doesn't feel good...or if he is just getting soft in his old age! :) Either way, I'm still going to be cautious for a while as they get to know each other!
So. That's a wrap for Thanksgiving 2008. Oh, and by the way...my Pumpkin Roll WAS a hit today!! It turned out pretty good if I do say so myself!
Scott is full and in bed already. He's getting up early again in the morning to head to deer camp. Doc is out prowling the neighborhood. Noah is safe and sound, asleep in the next room. Baby Moses is curled up in my lap. I'm a happy Mama (Except for I wish Doc would quit chasing those girls in the neighborhood!)
I've got to go to work tomorrow...but I'm actually looking forward to it. The few who will be there are going to be watching the Ole Miss vs. MS State game! It should be a nice day! ;)
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
