Scott and I had a great weekend! Friday night he took me to Wisteria Inn Bed and Breakfast in Crystal Springs to celebrate our one year anniversary! It’s a beautiful house that was built in 1859 and has been restored by a couple who now live there. The owners told us all about the history of the home and several neat stories about the original owners. It was so interesting! It was such a neat treat to go there...we never do anything like that...and it was ALL SCOTT'S IDEA!!!!Scott was so excited about our "breakfast" that we were going to get...you know...because its a Bed and BREAKFAST.... he somehow thought that the lady told him on the phone that they served breakfast in bed....and he was expecting THE WORKS!
Saturday morning....about 8:30 and still no breakfast...Scott decided to go explore around and find the cooks...all he found was a note on the kitchen table that said, "Help yourself to breakfast." On the table was a cardboard box full of pastries and a big bowl with single serving boxes of cereal. When he came back into our room, he had a disgusted look on his face - holding his half eaten pastry....and said, "Guess what breakfast is." All I could do was laugh!
To top the morning off...we couldn't (or should I say...DID'NT) take a shower because their hot water heater broke some time during the night. They offered us a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. (We politely said, "No thanks!")
Even with no shower and no hot breakfast in bed, it was still a great time. After we left Saturday morning, we went home and got our bows and went out to the 3D target range and spent the whole afternoon there. Only two more weeks until our first tournament of the year!
Today of course is the Daytona 500...the first race of the season! I made seven-layer bean dip for the occasion and we grilled steaks. Yum-Yum!!!
Oh yeah, Valentines....I never got Scott anything, but when he came through the door Thursday night, he was holding a gift bag and flowers! It was the same exact flowers he gave me on our first date!!! I'll never forget opening the door that night and seeing him standing there with those flowers - I'm pretty sure it was love at first site! ;)
