uld be before I met him. And this time last year, I was celebrating my life commitment to that very man, nestled in a cabin in the woods covered in snow. This year...haven't done a single thing for him for Valentine's Day. Is that terribel or what?? I DID go the beginning of last week to Walgreens to search for a card at least - but I couldn't find anything that just hit the spot. I was trying really hard to think of something creative...but now...here it is Valentine's Day and still n-o-t-h-i-n-g.....The day is not a complete loss, I suppose. It's been a good reminder to not take him for granted! I guess a nice home cooked meal will suffice to get that point across to him. :) He IS a wonderful husband. And even in those not so fun times he is still wonderful. I was reading in a devotional a couple weeks ago - lying in bed (pouting because I was mad at him about some dumb thing I can't even remember) and there on the page in big bold letters was this, "Marriage is not about making us happy - its about making us Holy." Ouch! Was that perfect timing or what. Its so true though. Instead of spending the time being upset at Scott (which truly isn't that often), it would be much more effective to stop and consider what God is trying to teach me through that particular situation. Sounds easy...but Flesh Woman is one stout cookie!
"May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it." 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
God, continue the work You have started in me...help me to be open to the things You are trying to teach me. Give me the power through your Holy Spirit to die to self daily. Sanctify me, through and though.
Happy Valentines Day, Baby.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandmother- she seems like such a precious, godly woman!
I can't believe you guys have been married a year, and how cool is that about the picture frame. That's just how ya'll roll... famous everywhere you go :)
We had homemade pork ribs and rice pilaf for supper on Valentine's with cheesecake. And Lost on TV. Can it get better? I think not.
