Tommy...our Turtle

This is Tommy...our new Turtle!! Isn't he cute!!

A month or so ago, Scott told me he was at a job site and saw a little baby Painted Turtle. When he told me that, I told him, "Awe, you should have brought it home to me!"

So ever since then, we have been on the lookout for a turtle.

Today, just after lunch, Scott calls me at work and says, "I got you something today!".

Of course I beg him to tell me what it is...and of course he gives in. Or at least gives in to give me a "hint".

He tells me that its something I've been wanting, and something hard to find....

"YOU FOUND ME A TURTLE!"

He said he was driving down a country road and saw him in the middle of the road! I couldn't wait to get home!!! (I guess I never had a pet turtle as a child...hence the excitement over my new pet turtle :)

When I pull in the drive-way this evening, I see our new turtle frolicking in the grass! And then I see Scott with a red Resolve bottle, scrubbing something on his driver's side truck seat.

When I ask him what in the world he was doing, he proceeds to tell me, "somehow poop got on my seat.." As he is turning around, pointing to his booty, "..and I SAT in it!"

Oops! So our new turtle has been hanging out in the truck since lunch when Daddy rescued him from the road. And somehow climbed up on the seat and had a little accident...how he did that I'll never know (the climbing on the seat part)!

Scott called him "Tommy the Turtle" tonight and I guess it has stuck for now. I'm not sure that's my favorite name...but I guess it'll do.

So, anyone know anything about raising turtles???
