So I got back from Germany on Saturday... went to work on Monday.... and then took the rest of the week off for Thanksgiving!! I was definitely looking forward to that! We were suppose to have Thanksgiving in
Starkville at Kerri and Mitt's house, but they were finishing up some (lots!) of remodeling in their living room and kitchen. It just
wasn't ready for company, so they went to have Thanksgiving with Kerri's family. Mom and Dad came to Jackson to have Thanksgiving with Scott and me!
We had so much fun cooking and preparing for the big feast!! They got to our house Tuesday afternoon and we immediately started on our menu. We started off baking a cake first. Mom had seen a carrot spice cake recipe in a magazine that she was dying to make! So we did! Ours was almost as pretty as the picture in the magazine.

Wednesday we woke up bright and early and started cooking! Oh, I just realized I never mentioned mom breaking her arm on my blog! She fell on Oct 29
th and broke her left arm (and she is left handed) vertically from the shoulder to the elbow! It was a horrible break, but she is doing much better now. The first week was pretty rough.
So, because Mom's arm was broken, Dad and I did a lot of the cooking while Mom did a lot of overseeing! We had the best time all cooking together!! Dad was really a big help!

Scott was at deer camp until Wednesday night and hunted down the road at his Dad's farm on Thanksgiving morning.
It sometimes got a little interesting trying to cook so much stuff at one time in my tiny kitchen, but somehow we made it work! Mom did a great job planning the timing out on everything!
It was also lots of fun to pull out my china and use it for the very first time!! We had fun setting the table!

Here is a view of our tiny little Thanksgiving table all set for a feast...

Our dessert table....

And our grand spread..... Way too much food for four people... but, hey, its Thanksgiving!!

And our delicious turkey that Dad slow roasted on
LuLu's rotisserie....and garnished with fresh mint from my yard (Mom and I felt like Martha Stewart! ha!!) !!! The turkey was YUMMY!!!!

It was a GREAT Thanksgiving 2009! One I'll never forget!! Thank you, God for the wonderful family you gave me!
Next year, I'll have to take more pictures of PEOPLE!! ha!! I guess I was too busy cooking to take pictures of us!!
