Today is mine and Scott's 1.5 year anniversary!! :) What a better way to celebrate than going to a marriage conference...and that's exactly what we did....The Great Marriage Experience!
The conference started off Friday night with a concert with Charles Billingsley and then also a christian comedian that was HILARIOUS!!!! His name is Dennis Swanberg...but he calls himself, "The Swan".....I think you can listen to some of his stuff on his website. Check it out.
All day Saturday we were "coached" by Dr. Gary and Barb Rosberg. They were great. Hearing them together really brings things together...you know...his view, her view....good stuff.
Today has been a lazy day....church...then a nap...then church again. Our pastor is doing a series on warfare praying on Sunday nights! Good timing after our marriage conference....you know...Satan always wants to attack after something like that to stir up things. I don't know about you...but I'm really getting sick of that ole devil. I've about had enough!
We learned tonight at church that any area of our life that you have not yielded full control to the Holy Spirit..Satan is waiting, hungry to take over that area. We must be so careful to not give ground to Satan and leave areas of our life open for him to take dominion over. Satan and his demons have been given the right to have dominion over darkness. Darkness is any area that Jesus is not LORD of! WOW! That really puts it in perspective!!! Don't give the devil room to move in!!!
I have become WAY TOO relaxed and complacent in praying for my husband, and covering every area of his life and our marriage in prayer. We, as Christians, can NOT afford to become complacent. Satan never rests...and he is WAITING like a hungry lion to find an area in our lives left unprotected! No matter how "good" I think things are going...Satan is always at work and I have to stay one step ahead of him. Today, I'm making a new committment to cover my husband in prayer daily!!!!
Barb Rosberg gave a practical suggestion this weekend. She said she makes a point to make up her bed every day...but not to just make it up....to use that time to pray for her husband and pray over their marriage bed. She said as she fluffs his pillow that she prays over his mind...and as she is straightening the sheets she is praying for him. What a good practice to start!!
Besides praying for my husband ;) ...I've been doing a lot of laundry and packing to go back to Mobile this week. Hopefully this time there will be no "excitement"! :) I really hate that I've got to leave Scott after this great weekend. I guess distance makes the heart grow fonder...
