Week In Mobile Ends with a Bang!

Well, besides missing my husband like CRAZY, this week has been pretty good...and this afternoon wrapped up the week with a bang...literally!

While my government vehicle was sitting in the parking lot...PARKED in the parking lot...the back, left tire BLEW up...and BLEW is an understatement! Not only did the tire blow, but it blew off part of the rear bumper, blew the cap off the gas tank, blew the brake light cover 20 feet away, and the fuel lines were separated from the fender underneath! Now that was some force! This picture hardly does it justice!

We were just walking out of our building on our way to lunch when a couple of our guys heard what they described as a "bomb exploding"...and then saw a puff of smoke. After the smoke cleared, they saw that it was my car tire! I was just coming out of the building about the time they realized what happened.

The rest of the afternoon was spent trying to find out what one does when they are stranded in Mobile with no vehicle to get home and have a government vehicle out of service! ugh....everything with the government is so complicated.

Aside from being on the phone all afternoon trying to figure all this out...I've spent most of the rest of the day thanking God for being so good and how he SO TOTALLY protected me! I drove that vehicle all the way from Vicksburg (almost 5 hours) and had been driving back in forth in Mobile all week...and the tire blows while parked in a parking lot. Now tell me the odds of that!

I am SO thankful that I wasn't driving it when it happened!! Thank you God! Thank you God!! I got a nice little Toyota Camry rental with GOOD tires to get back home tomorrow...and boy I cant WAIT to be home!!!!

Good grief. What are the odds of that happening?

I'm so glad you weren't in the car.
