I'm going to the chapel...

Thats right!! I am ENGAGED!! Scott asked me to be his wife Monday, July 10....on our 6 month anniversary! We think the date will be February 10th, 2007. Does that date ring a bell?? It is exactly a year from the day of our first date (You can read all about it in Chapter 3 below!)

Here's how it happened....Scott goes to a men's Bible Study on Monday nights and I just started going to a ladies Bible Study on Monday nights...it was late when I got out...probably 9:30 or so....and when I got to my car I had a miss call from Scott. I called him back and he had been out of Bible study since 9:00. I could tell he was still driving because I could hear his radio, so I asked him why he wasnt home yet and he quickly told me that he had to stop at Lowe's to pick up some things for a job the next day. I continued to talk to him my whole way home...he had had a flat earlier that day and borrowed his Dad's truck to go to Bible study so I figured he was going back to his parent's to take his truck back... he went right along with that... as I pulled into my drive-way I reached up to hit the garage door remote like normal.... but nothing was happening. I was still on the phone with Scott at this time so I proceed to tell him what was going on. He "acted" clueless. At first I thought the electricity might be off but I noticed all the other neighbors still had lights. So anyway, I went to the front door and fiddled through all my keys looking for the one that matched my door..in the dark... then all of a sudden the porch light came on.... I asked Scott immediately, "Are you at my house? You better be or someone else is!!" He lets me wrestle with the door a little longer and when I open the door...there he is! (Turns out he had unplugged my garage door so he could park in my garage and I wouldnt know he was there) At this point, I was still thinking he came by to surprise me on our 6 month anniversary! We walked in the kitchen and he had flowers in a vase there...which I didnt even notice until he told me! They were just like the flowers he brought me on our first date!! I was so busy trying to find something to eat in my empty kitchen that I didnt even see the LITTLE box sitting beside the flowers!! When I saw it I asked with a grin, "Whats that?" I knew it either had to be some ear-ring for our anniversary....or a ROCK! At this point I am getting a little nervous...not scared nervous...just excited nervous....after I unwrapped the box and opened the little black velvet box on the inside he got down on his knee and asked, "Will you be my wife?" Of course I replied "YES!!!" and then he added, "On one condition....only if its forever!"

It was a sweet time...I couldnt believe it was really happening...I had no idea he had even been shopping for rings...much less BOUGHT one!! It was so funny because, I had talked to my sister-in-law, Kerri, earlier that day and after I told her it was our 6 month anniversary she was convinced that he was going to propose that night!! I just blew the idea off especially since we both had Bible study that night and I knew we both get out late...plus...I REALLY didnt think he had even been ring shopping!! Oh, and speaking of the ring...its BEAUTIFUL...he did such a great job picking it out!! He picked it out all on his on too...we had never looked at rings together intentionally because I wanted it to be HIS choice!!

I am so excited!! God has blessed me ABUNDANTLY with Scott Berry! He is more than I ever dreamed God would give me....everything I have ever wanted and more!!!

Well, thats its for now! I am so excited about the next six months! I will keep you posted on the details!!! Signing off for the first time as the FUTURE Mrs. Berry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
