Ready and Waiting

So Baby Boy's due date has come and gone (this past Monday). I spent last weekend dusting, vacuuming, and making sure the whole house was in order. I can't really say I was "nesting" because that is a very typical weekend for me, pregnant or not! I wanted to take some more pictures of the nursery.... the way it finally ended up. Its turned out so cute! I go and sit in there nearly every day and just day dream about what its going to be like when this precious bundle arrives!!

The final touches we made to the nursery were the nursery rhyme pictures mom found that we got framed! It just made the room complete!! They are perfect!!! The one on the left is "Little Boy Blue" and the one on the right is "Jack and Jill".

Once Baby Boy arrives, Mom got three "Scrapbook Shadow Boxes" that we will do something real creative with and hang in the room. Until then, they are just resting on top of his bookshelf.

The three baskets on his shelf are filled with burp clothes (most of them hand made by Mom!), receiving blankets, and diapers and wipes! Things I'll need quick and easy access too!! The bottom shelf (for now) has a small basket of toys and pictures of his "friends"! :)

After moving "THE Chest-of-drawers" to every corner of the room.... I finally settled on keeping it here....

I've had the best time organizing all his drawers.... yes, I'm OCD... and I ENJOY organizing his drawers! :) You can't see it very well in the picture, but I also covered the frame (on top of his dresser) with the striped fabric from the crib skirt. That was another project I completed this past weekend. Its not perfect (and it wasn't real easy), but it turned out pretty cute!

Oh, and another detail that I recently added - I found these adorable "The Tortoise and the Hare" bookends! They are on top of his dresser too! I had been looking for some nursery rhyme bookends for his room... and those were the closest I could find to the nursery rhyme theme that suited the room!

And then finally.... his clock!! I looked high and low for a clock that would just go perfect in the room and couldn't find ANYTHING that I liked! I finally found this one on ebay!! I wasn't 100% positive that I loved it but I bid on it anyway. When I got it, it was even more precious than I thought.... and goes perfect in the room!!!

I'm very pleased with how everything turned out. Thanks to Mom for all the help and answering the phone all trillion times I called (sometimes multiple times a day) with ideas, brainstorms and questions!! Its been so fun!! But now the REAL fun starts!!!!

After we made it past Halloween on Sunday I was very relieved! I was so hoping he would have a November birthday! This week (since we've made it out of October) Ive been walking like a mad women!! I'm ready for Little One to get here! At my appointment on Monday, we officially scheduled an induction for November 8th if he doesn't come on his own before then! He still has three days to do this on his own... and I'm REALLY hoping that he does!!!!! :)

We'll keep you posted!!!!!

Tick, Tock.... Tick, Tock.... Tick, Tock......
