Christmas Bread and Christmas Ducks

As Christmas "Happies" to pass out to each family on the Berry side this year, I made my Mom's DELICIOUS homemade strawberry bread!!! It was my first stab at making it myself. This bread brings back lots of childhood memories! My mom used to stay up all night long making this bread for my brother and I to take to all our teachers at Christmas!! The house would smell like one big ole strawberry bread loaf.... and boy did it used to smell good!! And the best part... there would always be one loaf that didn't come out of the pan just right... we got to have that one for ourselves! Mmmm-mmm GOOD!!

I was a little intimidated to try this recipe, it always seemed like it was such a JOB... but actually it wasn't that difficult!! I was very pleased with the way they turned out. And I even made some cute little personalized gift tags on the computer to tie on each one!! I may have to make this a yearly tradition... following in Mom's footsteps!!!

On a totally different note.... we now have a refrigerator in the garage to keep all our drinks and overflow (and I LOVE IT!).... the other day I went to get myself a cold soda... bent over to open the frig door, cracked it open and stuck my head in... and just about kissed one of THESE....

Not knowing this is where my lovely husband had stashed his fresh kill, I was startled to say the least!

LOL!! The joys of being married to a hunter....

Merry Christmas!!!
